Bio

Movement has been a constant in Kathleen’s life since she was five. She grew up dancing ballet, joined her high school dance team, and started practicing yoga in college. In 2016, she completed her RYT 200-hour training and taught yoga until the pandemic.

In 2018, she found Pilates, drawn to the way it brought together elements of both yoga and dance. She continued to evolve in her movement journey, taking up road cycling and distance running along the way. Endurance sports deepened her appreciation for Pilates as a way to recover from the demands of training, build strength, and keep her body resilient and injury-free.

In 2026, she completed her comprehensive Pilates training through The Lab with Justine Malick. Kathleen approaches teaching with a technical, precise, and energetic style, with detailed cueing and a strong emphasis on flow.

What brought you to Pilates?

I grew up dancing ballet and took up Pilates because it felt like a natural transition as I stepped away from dance. I kept coming back to it because I loved how I would feel after class -- strong, connected, and open.

Why do you teach?

I really enjoy guiding others through movement! Seeing someone have an “aha” moment when they connect with their body in a way they haven’t before is one of the best feelings in the world.

You were a regular at the studio before becoming an instructor. What did you like about l.a. springs? How did it compare to other places?

I liked that the classes were small, the workout was efficient (only 45 min but would always feel like I got a lot done), and the instructors were all great! Also loved how airy and simple the space felt. I was mostly going to l.a. springs but I did also try a few other studios. Some of them felt too intense (workouts were so hard without enough detailed instruction) or formulaic (workouts were always the same).

Fun fact

I'm a twin. But we don't look alike!
