Bio
As a lifelong dancer, Elle has explored a wide range of movement practices that inform her approach to teaching Pilates. A trained dancer with a BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase College, she has been performing and choreographing work since 2008.
After spending time in Berlin, Germany where she studied somatic movement through the integrative work of Body-Mind Centering, Elle’s drive to learn about the body’s biomechanics led her to Pilates. She fell in love with the functional movement and transformative exercises that enhanced all her other physical activities.
Elle received her comprehensive Pilates certification through Ellie Herman in Brooklyn, followed by an apprenticeship at New York Pilates, and workshops with Eric Franklin and Irene Dowd in Kinesthetic Anatomy. Elle subsequently taught at various studios in New York and Brooklyn including New York Pilates, Fort Pilates, and Flow Pilates before moving to Los Angeles.
In 2022, Elle founded l.a. springs, to house and share her knowledge and help others find their inner and outer strength, resilience, and healing through the power of Pilates.
What brought you to Pilates?
The conditioning of Pilates made my body feel really engaged and strong even when I wasn’t in class.
I found the results very lasting and effective when I was still dancing/performing a lot and had to really “be in my body”.
Why do you teach?
I teach to spread the love of Pilates, I feel it’s a very beneficial method for literally everyone no matter the age or physical background. Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated with the body and how we can move better. The mind body connection is very powerful work in Pilates and I love to help the clients grow in their practice knowing it is a limitless adventure.
